The coffered ceiling was articulated with finely executed stencilled ornamentation to the corner motifs and ceiling rose, together with delicate hand-painted pin-striping to define the coffers. These hand-painted decorative elements are set on a specialist finished ground, a broken colour treatment designed to soften the flat panels and sit in contrast to the strapwork. The treatment enhanced the geometry and architectural cadence of the ceiling while maintaining refinement and a strong sense of craftsmanship throughout.
The main bedroom door architrave was treated as a decorative element in its own right. MBMC inlaid fabric directly into the architrave, finished with a precise piped edge, a tailored detail that introduces softness and material contrast to the surrounding painted joinery.
The wainscoting was decoratively finished in a specialist dragged or striƩ paint finish. A hand-mixed semi-translucent glaze was applied with one brush and dragged with another to create depth, structure and tonal complexity across the surface. The technique produces a subtle linear texture and a softly aged patina that enhances the architectural rhythm of the joinery rather than obscuring it.
