Estimator
Job Summary: The AE (Architectural Estimator) Estimator is responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for joinery and decorative arts projects. This role requires a keen understanding of materials, production processes, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Estimating and Cost Analysis:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for joinery and decorative arts projects, including materials, labor, and time requirements.
- Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary project information.
- Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with project managers, designers, and production teams to ensure accurate and feasible estimates.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and availability of materials and services.
- Provide support during the project bidding process, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and related documentation.
- Prepare detailed project budgets and cost breakdowns for review by management and clients.
- Monitor and report on project costs, identifying any variances and potential issues.
- Client Interaction:
- Engage with clients to understand their project requirements and provide expert advice on materials, finishes, and design options.
- Present estimates and proposals to clients, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating within the joinery, woodworking, or decorative arts industry.
- Strong knowledge of joinery and woodworking techniques, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as [specific software].
